Flint and stone is an attractive feature of the UK’s architectural heritage, but traditional flint and stone laying is labour intensive and expensive, and constrained by adverse weather conditions.  The Solution?  Hand-crafted Flint & Stone Blocks that enable builders to conveniently utilise a traditional building method for new homes, and those that have local heritage design requirements.

Any natural stone can be supplied in block form, and no two blocks are the same.  Stone is laid by hand randomly, to ensure the authentic look of cladding but with the time and cost-saving benefits of ready-made blocks.  An additional benefit is that the blocks can be used for external load-bearing walls.

Standard size blocks are 445mm x 220mm x 100mm plus a 5mm mortar joint. Our blocks are also available in ¼ ,½ and ¾ sizes. Arches and angles can be made to order for windows and gable ends. These products conform with all legislative requirements and carry full product liability insurance.

Flint & Stone Blocks can also be made to match any existing random stone structure from a photograph or site visit. We can provide the quantity, size and shape of blocks required for any project from scaled drawings.

Blocks are supplied in standard concrete block weight, or our unique, patented lightweight blocks which weigh about 17kg - falling well within the Manual Handling Regulation Guidelines published by the Health & Safety Executive. We maintain a block strength in excess of 10N/sq, mm and a Thermal Transmittance –U value in the order of 3.75 W/m20C. Regular block testing is undertaken by independent laboratories.

Delivery can be made direct to site or store, on shrink-wrapped non-returnable pallets. Fully trained technical staff are available for advice, including guidance on laying and pointing.
